Psychiatric Second Opinion Consultation
Unsure about a diagnosis, or feel your treatment isn’t working? Get a fresh, independent review of your care and clear recommendations you can act on.

What is a psychiatric second opinion?
A second opinion consultation is an independent review of your mental health diagnosis and treatment by a psychiatric provider who hasn’t been involved in your care. It gives you a fresh perspective on whether your diagnosis is accurate and whether your current treatment is the best fit.
We carefully review your history, symptoms, previous evaluations, records and current or past medications. We then share our findings, explain where we agree or differ, and give you clear, written recommendations.
You can share these recommendations with your current provider, or choose to continue your care with us.
Who should consider a second opinion?
A second opinion is valuable whenever you have doubts or questions about your mental health care.
Questioning a diagnosis
Your diagnosis doesn’t seem to fit how you feel or what you experience.
Treatment isn’t working
You’ve tried several medications without enough improvement.
Troubling side effects
You’re struggling with side effects and want to explore alternatives.
Complex or serious conditions
For example bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or treatment-resistant depression.
Facing a big decision
You’re considering a major treatment change and want expert input first.
Families and caregivers
You want an independent review of a loved one’s care (with their consent).

- You’ve had little improvement after several months of treatment
- Multiple medications haven’t helped
- You received conflicting diagnoses
- You feel your concerns aren’t being heard
- You’re about to start a major new treatment
